We eat here often and we have visitors from out of town that want good seafood. The grouper Burger is yummy and the rice and beans are a little spicy, but, if you really want to spice up your meal, be sure to try the special Wharf hot sauce (be careful). We always try to sit outside to watch the dolphins and boaters. Many times you can see some wild young people jump from the bridge. The only problem you may encounter is the parking lot is small and fills up quickly during prime times.

Terrible experience. We tried two of the raw oysters on the platter we ordered and they were bad (rotten-tasting) so we asked if we could send them back. Not only did they not let us send them back, they refused to do a trade for something else. We eat raw oysters frequently and we know what good fresh oysters taste like and these tasted rotten. We were very upset but would have been fine if they did something -- anything -- to apologize like comping a drink or a side but they didn't. So we were forced to pay for something we didn't eat and that was inedible. As for the rest of the food, it ranged from mediocre to bad.

If we lived here this would be a regular place for us. It was great. Great food and awesome atmosphere.

Have visited this place for years! The Wharf is an on the water restaurant with great food. We walked in with a party of 6 and we seated quickly. The old lady host wearing a belly shirt was quite rude to our friend. We were sitting out back looking at the water and fish and she's comes up says "excuse me but your going to have to move I need to sit people here". She could have said it differently and shouldn't have had a rude tone about it. I was reading the other reviews and it seemed that other customers have had issues with the same lady, but we were determined not to let her ruin dinner. Our server was very friendly and attentive I ordered a monster chili cheese dog with French fries and on the French fries I asked for chili cheese and she also said that it was not problem! All the food came out hot and fresh. The drinks were filled promptly. My wife had a group sandwich that she enjoyed also! If you have a boat its a good place to stop and grab a bite to eat!

If I would have stayed at the bar It would be 3 stars only because I haven't tried the food. Marla, the bartender was very pleasant and she's got a million dollar smile. I stopped in after the beach for a beer before heading back downtown, grabbed one and sat outside. A family of 3 were being sat, I was sitting down with 2 chairs on either side, and there were 2 chairs next to the post. I gladly said that I would move to the other side. I was enjoying the view and a server came up and asked if I needed a menu, I said "no thank you, just having a beer". Then she said that I was sitting in the restaurant area and "if someone needed to sat I would have to leave". Not move to the bar, leave. I am in the industry and I understand how it works... It's a slow lazy Friday afternoon here and she just could have worded it differently. I don't know her name, but she's an older woman with glasses and a reaaally bad jailhouse looking tattoo on the back of her neck, probably from a heroined out night in the 80s. Just please teach her proper server/patron etiquette... Even the ladies sitting behind me thought it was rude. My parents are coming to St Pete for a visit and I'll probably bring them here, but we'll sit with Marla at the bar.

I have been here for drinks many-a-times in the past, but recently someone told me I HAD to try the seafood here again. How Could I say no? I went late-ish on a Sunday and they were still decently busy. The menu is large, with something for everyone. We sat outside along the water, which is totally worth coming for a drink and sitting there alone. The view during the day is even better. The only downside to this place is I'm convinced they don't have real AC (inside). We ordered the jerk wings with red beans and rice, and the wings were GOOD. But the star was really the beans and rice, so much flavor without being overpowering. We also got the buffalo shrimp, they were larger than I expected and didn't taste over fried as they can sometimes be. The seafood gumbo was OK, I am admittedly kind of picky when it comes to seafood gumbo/chowder. We split a Grouper sandwich, the serving size was not too bad and the flavor was good, the side of fries was HUGE. I ordered the crab claws as well (they were out of the oysters), and I was surprised at how good they were. They are the part of the bottom of the claw so you have to suck the meat off of it. I ordered them sauteed in garlic butter and would order it the same way again. Our server was apologetic and prompt, we never needed to ask for more to drink or anything. Overall it was a good experience. I'll definitely be back for lunch sometime.

I'll start this review by prefecing that the one star is solely for how humorous my experience was with my family at this restaurant. Luckily we have a sense of humor and were able to make the best out of our time. You know you've gone to a good place when one of your family members keeps saying "I just wanna go home..." Although we were seated rather quickly, it took some time before we were acknowledged or asked what we would like to drink. Drinks took some time to be delivered as well. When it came to ordering, our server was a great help: "I'm looking at either the conch fritters or the calamari, which would you recommend?" "Oh, I don't like either of those so I don't know." "Ok... well what about the Trigger Fish?" "Oh, I don't like that either." I was almost compelled to ask "well, is there anything on the menu you do like?" I'm not a salesperson but I'm pretty sure saying that you don't like any of the food at your restaurant is not a good tactic to get people to come back. We finally got our order placed and after another lengthy wait, we received our food. While my soup was of edible temperature both my dad's scallops and fries and my step mom's fish and potato were both cold. When my dad went to speak to the waitress about our food, she replied "well, it is windy outside so I'm sure it cooled off pretty quickly, I grabbed it right from the food window". Again, I'm no physicist but I don't think the zeroth law of thermodynamics or heat transfer work like that. Nevertheless, we were able to get the food reheated, which again, took more time. We were not checked on again until the check was delivered by which time we had already came to the conclusion that we were most likely not returning. We were also very surprised to see that they had charged us for the refill on my coke (i didn't even know there were still restaurants that did that). However, during this time we had made friends with a nearby couple who had lost their roll of paper towels and one of their menus due to the windy atmosphere; an event that their waiter didn't seem to care too much about either. We thought that our dining experience was over after we paid but as we were leaving, happened to see another waitress arguing with a customer. Apparently he had ordered a pint of ale and was merely inquiring about the size of the glass she had brought him. She proceeded to bring out another glass of the same size and a 12oz bottle filled with water to "show him how much 16oz was" and that she was "proving to him that she wasn't cheating her customers." Thanks for the volumetrics lesson Bill Nye, I'm pretty sure all that man wanted was his beer. To conclude, the food was sub par and the service was horrible, not just ours but it seemed like everyone else's as well. The only thing we enjoyed was the view from our table and the laughs we had at everyone's expense. Will not return. Dine at your own risk!

I was with a fish aficionado who was specifically looking for freshly caught grouper and most of the other places on St Pete Beach serve unnamed fish for their tacos and burgers. So after some yelp research, we ended up at this place. There were many other fresh catch fish available for an entree but not as a burger including flounder, cobia, salmon, and tuna. We had the grilled Mahi Mahi burger for $10 and the blackened Grouper Burger for $12 which was an incredible value as it was at the same price as other unnamed lesser fish at other beach restaurants and the cuts of fish were so large that they were hanging over the bun of the burger. The restaurant offered a a healthy side of spicy rice and beans, coleslaw, or a baked potatoe instead of fries at no extra charge. For just $1 uncharge vs more at other restaurants, you can get a side salad. We were seated on the 2 tier outside deck with a beautiful view of the inter-coastal looking onto the docks. The bar chairs were comfortable and the tire seating felt cozy and snug. I prefer this seating over the less sophisticated and less comfortable picnic tables of Sea Critters next door. The decor was practical fisherman / dock style and more polished than Sea Critters. Service was quick and courteous. Food came in a timely manner. Parking lot in the back is kind of small offering around 8 spaces only but we managed to find a spot without any problems and when we came out we weren't blocked in like some of others have been. There are also 4 boat docking spots at this restaurant and 6 at Sea Critters. We saw a large yachts, many boats passing by, and a sharp looking championship cigarette boat that sounded better than a corvette! I'm the outside deck they have a cool directional sign that lists how far a lot of Carribean destination are from this restaurant. Will be coming back again. Thanks!

Service was fine. The Mahi sandwich had a bit more fish flavor than I like. The shrimp po boy was alright but I prefer a corn meal batter and this was all flour. The view was great out back on the intercostal - but all in all as a local I prefer other restaurants more. People next to us liked their corned beef sandwiches but I would say this will be only time to eat here for me.

We were very excited to eat/drink here. After sitting at the bar for 15 minutes with only being served a water and menus, we decided to leave. Food and drinks looked good, would have been nice if someone would have served is so we could have tried them.

I love this place, no frills good dive food and drinks. If you are looking for five star service, this is not your place. This is a no fuss, chill, day drinking (or night drinking) kind of place. The fish spread is by far my favorite dish here. I really enjoy grabbing a beer, some fish spread and just hanging out gazing over the marina. The seafood chowder is pretty great on a rainy chilling day too.

Cute little dive bar with a great view! The day I visited, power was out on the whole island. Most places shut down. This one was open and willing to take cash for drinks (no food, since there was no power to cook). The staff was super friendly and went out of their way to make folks feel better - everyone was hurting come lunch and dinner time with no where to eat on the island. Just the respite I needed after a stressful day.

Had dinner with my guy last night and needless to say, it was a bust. The lady at the host stand said we couldn't sit outside with out daughter because there wasn't room for a sling. So we sat at a table, but took a peek at the patio and there was plenty of room for a carseat. She told us 2 more times that it wasn't doable. We sat at our table and ordered drinks and seafood chowder. It was delicious. Then it was time for entrees... I ordered the shrimp and scallop linguine with marinara and Alfredo sauce. It came out with just marinara. The server (Steven) didn't come back for awhile, and when he did, I mentioned that the sauce wasn't correct. He said he forgot to tell the kitchen and he would take off a discount, but didn't offer to get a new one? I took 3 bites and pushed it aside. When the check was dropped, there was nothing taken off. When he FINALLY came back to the table, we mentioned that there was nothing deducted off of the bill. He said he would give us $5 dollars... uhm, what? We asked for him to take it off and rerun the card. He said he would just give us money, and pulled out his cash from his apron and put $5 dollars on the table. my boyfriend and I mentioned that this was uncomfortable. He apologized and said it was his fault and asked if we needed anything else. We grabbed our stuff, left our leftovers and walked out. I am not sure how a person can handle a situation like that and not get a manager envolved. The only reason they are getting 1 star is for the seafood chowder.

This place is horrible. We were greeted by the hostess with a single word -two. No hello, no good evening. She didn't even look at our faces. She brought us to a booth and the table and menus had a film of grease on them. There were also small bits of the last diner's meal on the table. The dining room had the odor of a locker room. The waitress was equally rude. She acted as if she was doing a favor by waiting on us. The crab cake was bland and too soft. The blackened shrimp were coated in cumin and were not actually blackened. The vegetables were microwaved and not heated equally. There are many other restaurants around here with the same type of food that deserve your money. We will never return.

We are in St Pete's for fishing and asked our guide if rather than us bringing soggy sandwiches if we could take a break and motor into a restaurant for seafood. Since we were on his dime and buying lunch he was all for it and took us to The Wharf, a place mobbed by locals and serves local seafood. Being able to dock your boat at the back of the restaurant is a great experience no matter where you are and this rustic spot is sure to bring that local feeling to any out of towner. Since we'd been on the water all day we opted for the air conditioned portion rather than the open air deck. Fortunately, we sat in McKenzie's section. She's a tall, vibrant, beautiful girl who knows the menu extremely well and was excellent. Made our experience better actually. The food is average. I had the blackened grouper fillet, which was pretty tasty, but the cup of gumbo was the star of lunch. It was damn spicy and awesome! The burger our guide had looked like a real burger rather than a frozen patty. The only disappointment was the shrimp po boy. It was all bread and little shrimp. Regardless this is a cool spot for lunch or dinner and a great local spot to grab a bite. If you are looking for a classy, high end experience avoid this place, but if you know how to enjoy a laid back spot, you need to come here.

Lived most of my life in st. Pete and ate grouper on a weekly basis. Now I live in Pittsburgh and I came down for thanksgiving. I was looking for some good grouper and I heard the Wharf was the place. Unfortunately it was not. The grouper didn't taste fresh. It was actually fishy, unlike actual grouper. Not saying it is fake but not fresh at all. I gave it 3 stars because it was still ok and it was a cool local spot. Would I come here again even though it's my best friends spot, no. There are way too many place along the beach that have fresher, tastier fish then here. The beer was good. Iffy grouper nuggets were $15. Shrimp batter was too think and not seasoned well. Bar tender was attentive but didn't ask how the food tasted. I figured because she wouldn't like the answer.

Amazing and awesome time at The Wharf! The owners are absolutely amazing!!! My family and I come here when we visit and are always leaving saying "The Wharf is the hidden gem of st petes". Love love love this place. Go there and get some drinks, meet new friends and order anything on the menu. 5 stars all the way! PS- if you are there on XMAS Day you are in for a SURPRISE :-) Thanks again!

I would have given the Wharf 4 stars, but our service just wasn't that great. The location is awesome. Especially if you get a seat looking out over the water, it's really nice. The food was good. Pretty standard bar food that wasn't amazing but definitely wasn't bad. I had a blackened mahi mahi that came with steamed vegetables and bread. I like to eat healthy and was happy with my dish. Our waitress was nice and pleasant, but not very attentive. We asked for sliced lemons in a cocktail and it didn't come out with them. Asked for lemons twice more and they never came. She also took a while to take our order and didn't really check on us much. Overall it was a good experience and I'd come back, but it wasn't spectacular.

Stunningly good food...shame about the service. They really should give you a taser as you walk in so you can get the attention of your server. What a pleasant location. Lots of friendly people...great cold beer and seriously good food. But oh, the service was just horrible. I feel like I spent half of our time there trying to get the attention of our server. And, we were sitting at the bar, which I think makes it even worse. We had never been to Pass-a-Grille beach before and stopped here to check it out. OK, it's a dive bar but we LOVE dive bars. It was very clean with a great atmosphere. They have a really extensive menu. We started with a Corona and house red wine, both of which were super and tried the fried pickles and blackened buffalo shrimp appetizers. Both were the best we've ever had. After initially paying attention to us, it then became a chore/game/ordeal to try to get more drinks or order something else. Come on, when you have to leave you seat at the bar to start chasing down a bartender? And I had to do it three times... We also had the blackened chicken Mexican bowl which sounds odd but is seriously good. Sadly, trying to pay our bill was more of an ordeal than ordering, Such a shame that what could have been a very pleasant experience was marred by such inattentive service. We asked to speak to a manager on our way out...they weren't there. The kitchen manager did speak to us and we gladly told him how outstanding the food was.

Pretty interesting down home waterfront restaurant; lots of character in this place that starts as soon as you pull into the parking lot, so that's where we'll begin. The parking lot is relatively small, so it is apparently quite common for people to park two cars deep and trap each other in spaces. If you are the last one in, and nice enough to tell the hostess what make and model car you drive, then she'll come and tell you when the person you trapped needs to get out. If you don't, she'll come through each room of the restaurant looking for you lol. On your way in, you'll find a bunch of oversized beach chairs near the entrance along with a television that apparently will always be on a Rays game if they're playing at the time. The chairs are wide enough for two and they let you bring drinks out there if you have to wait for seating. On weekends, this place gets busy, so there may be a short wait but not too long. We waited maybe ten minutes at most right at lunch time on a Sunday. They're right next to a marina and also have their own boat docks so you can arrive by water if you choose to, or if you're inside, you can watch boaters come and go. That being said, the outside seating will not accommodate strollers, so if you're with a child on wheels and wanted to enjoy some sea air and scenery, not going to happen. Inside has many window seats though so you should still be able to get a view if that's important. Food & drink time. This place does have liquor! Their liquor prices are also very reasonable. The Sunday we were there Bacardi & Coke along with Cap'n Morgan White were both $4.50. My wife had what she said was an excellent home made white sangria and it was $5.50. As far as food goes, was very happy with that too. My wife had a burger, on toasted bread instead of a bun (an option you can choose), and she said it was very good; however, she ordered medium rare and there was no pink to be found. I ordered a pound of steamed shrimp (peel & eat), with old bay seasoning, and they did indeed come out steaming. They were quite good, no complaints. Unfortunately I was still eating when what as to have been my grouper wrap arrived, so I didn't notice that my wrap had turned back into a sandwich. I went ahead and ate it rather than send it back since it had been sitting there a while until I finished my shrimp. Other than the bun vs wrap issue, the blackened grouper itself was very very good; nice and fresh, the seasoning was just right, tasted great. Their fries are nice and crispy too. One final minor complaint; I like hot sauce, but if you want hot sauce, you get their house brand home made option, and it's 50 cents. 50 cents for hot sauce seems kind of ridiculous but hey, great fish, cheap drinks, it's not the end of the world. I will mention that while we were there, we overheard the order from the adjacent table which seemed a bit odd. A woman strongly disliked mushrooms, and while I don't remember what she was trying to order, it came with mushrooms, onions, swiss cheese, whatever else, and she simply wanted to hold the mushrooms. The waitress said they do not do substitutions and could not make that change. I, as these guests did too, would never consider holding an ingredient to be a substitution nor have I heard a refusal of such a reasonable request before. So, with that, the upcharge on hot sauce and our own waitress messing a couple things up, I'm going to go with four stars instead of five. We will definitely be back to try more of the food and we'll see if they work me up to five stars.

It is a double blessing when you are roaming and looking when you find a place that provides a comforting relaxing atmosphere that gives you the feeling when you leave that somehow you know you will return. I had a very good time, except, I missed out on the view everyone describes due to a heavy fog that rolled in. Which means my positive experience and review is all about the place and wonderful service. The ambiance matches its name a waterfront, rustic, wood looking, fish cleaning, pop a beer, sit back and relax kind of place. If you stopped a rustic you got a good picture of a wood grained restaurant/bar with booths and tables on a tile floor (looked brick). It screams come casual. Go on a nice day because based on the design it looks like they had some really great waterfront seating. After reading a review on the conch fritters (jalapeno) I had to try them. They were very good with nice, spicy, bite to them and dipping sauce that tasted like it had a horseradish base to it. The fritters must have been 2" around. The spice was just enough to take notice but not over powering. They were crispy and warm. Definitely a try if you visit. I had to try the Wells Banana Bread Beer. Not sure if it is a regular novelty or not but it was something I had to try. At first I thought I was into a sweet beer but that was not the case. The Banana Bread was only a hint in the taste and aroma. The hoppy beer flavor was still there but the flavors did not over power each other. My main course was the Mahi Mahi with a baked potato and salad. The salad came out cold and it tasted fresh with a red onion that was very tasty. The baked potato was hot and stayed hot throughout the meal. The Mahi Mahi was blackened just barely past moist and was very delicious. The blackening had hints of oregano, sage, and some cayenne in it. All of it was very complimentary. The service at first thought seemed slow but as the meal progressed it should be more described as relaxed. So don't go to be in a hurry, go to savor. The server was very good and made sure my visit was comfortable, answered questions, and provided brief delightful conversation with a twist of wit. Very much a good dining experience.

Good atmosphere, but hot and stuffy on some nights (like last night). I would suggest that a choice between Sea Critters and the Wharf (which are right next to each other), then opt for Sea Critters. The Wharf had a welcoming staff, but my concern was in the kitchen. All dishes were uninspired and some bordered on tasteless. Their calamari was particularly unremarkable with a greasy taste and chewy texture. My entree was fried soft shell crab which was fried well enough that I couldn't really notice how bad the crab might have been. The one shining light for all of us at the table was the beans and rice, which were extremely tasty with a hint of lime that created a somewhat salty taste. I hope that it was some lime versus some Zatarains that they may have substituted to flavor the rice. Overall, it was underwhelming to all served and no one at the table discussed how good their food might have been.

On The waterfront and a cool place but not as good as the place next door. Like a good red wine? It is served ice cold here. No exceptions. The fish fry special on Friday is salt water catfish called BASA. I thought it was local until I looked it up. It's a product of Vietnam. They can't get a local fish? It was good but very soft texture. Neutral flavor. I just don't agree with importing fish to Florida. Shame on them! It's an ok place but three stars is all I give it.

I really enjoyed this place! Don't let the outside of the restaurant fool you. The interior reminds me of a boat house. This place is right on the water and offers indoor, outdoor or bar seating. They play live music in the evenings which adds to the atmosphere. I was greeted immediately upon entering and seated promptly. The server was friendly, quick and efficient. I found the menu to be diverse but not overwhelming, and everything was very fairly priced. The food was amazing! I got a special that included blackened tilapia with a crab cake and side of rice, and small salad. The fish was beautifully seasoned and blackened. My boyfriend got the peel and eat shrimp, which was also perfectly seasoned and steamed! I left the restaurant stuffed and feeling very satisfied. Overall- AWEOSOME food. Great Florida atmosphere.

I used to love that place. An arrogant bartender told me he needed a credit card before I ordered. Well ok but he didn't give it back. And when I drank one beer and wanted to leave because he was being a smartass. He charged my card. I wanted to pay cash. I'll never refer that place again. Or go back. If you want to be treated like your shit, then go. I've spent thousands of dollars over the years there but not one more penny or the renters of are condo !

Love this place! Came here alone after a terrible day for a quick bite and the hostess was vey polite and sat me dock side. She was extremely friendly and did not make me feel award that I was dining alone. Furthermore, I truly appreciated that she did not try and sit me at the bar as many restaurants try and do if you are alone. It was a very nice night out, clear sky's and no Mosquitos, the food was delicious and very reasonably priced. I had a blackened mahi sandwhich and 3 drinks from the bar ( kettle one) and bill was under $30.00 Will definitely be back again.

More or less a fan. It's a divey "near the beach" bar and restaurant, that is on the water (intercoastal). If the limited bar scene on the Gulf side is not working for you, then The Wharf is a good alternative. There seating out front (Pass-a-Grille Way side), and this is also where the band sets up (live music on at least Saturdays, perhaps other nights too). Out back (intercoastal side) the windows open wide for fresh air and a view. There are also more chairs outside, if you are trying to catch some rays. On our visit it was jumping. Plenty of people in front for the music and out back for easy access to the bar. Service was good for the crowd, and we had no problem keeping our glasses filled (Pabst Blue Ribbon, on draft, in case you were wondering). It's walking distance from the southern beaches of Pass-a-Grille, which is a plus. If you can't walk, be sure to take advantage of one of the "free beach rides" services.

Good place right on the water. We got buffalo shrimp & blue crab claws along with a few Fat Tires & Jai Alais. It's exactly what you want in a waterside shack vibe place.

I wanted to like The Wharf, but sadly the service was sub par (empty glasses and the server never checked on us to see how our meal was until our entrees were gone). We got 3 medium sized stone crab claws for $11... and it took 25 minutes to come out (as our appetizer). Now in their defense, they were very busy. I ordered the fried oyster basket (with fries and cole slaw). The cole slaw tasted store bought. The fries were standard. The oysters did not taste fresh :( BUT, they did give a generous portion of oysters, so kudos for that! The grouper sandwich that my friend ordered lacked flavor (she ordered it blackened and there was hardly any blackened seasoning on the exterior). Perhaps we caught them at a bad time, and for that reason, I'm hopeful our next trip I will be able to revise this original review.

0 When we first exited our car, we thought it was abandoned. Well, when we walked in, we found out first thing that they had given away our table to another group of, considered "locals". We were seated in the back of the bar, and people walked between us often. I received my soda relatively quickly, but they were switching over the machine so it was sour, very nasty. After about ten minutes, I was given my new soda. There were no condiment bottles at my table, so I was forced to borrow them them from the next table over. They were slimy, as discovered when trying to put ketchup on my measly serving of fries. They gave me six puny pieces of shrimp and threw a lemon on top, as seen in the picture below. The fries were average, and the shrimp was okay. Not much stood out with the meal itself. The person I came with told me that the crab cake was sloppy and the choice of sides for the dinners was limited; no substitutions. There's no uniforms, and the waitress was ditzy and disconnected. She hardly ever came to check on us. The ceiling was low, and a few of the TVs were out. It was very cramped and crowded. We had a view of the harbor, but the water was dirty and the boats blocked the view. I can tell you for sure, we will not be coming back. I'm not sure why you people do. They ignore those who are not 'locals'. 0 out of 5, would not recommend.

Cautious to write a review. This is a locals place and if word gets out, it will just get busier. A friend introduced us to the Wharf about ten years ago. When in St. Pete - about three times per year, we always have at least two trips in to the Wharf. It's a beach bar through and through - and the food is awesome. I always have either a cup or a bowl of the gumbo. Weak stomachs beware - it's spicy and unbelievably good. I normally have the blackened grouper, either on a salad, plain or a sandwich. It's fresh and awesome. My wife always orders the pound of steamed shrimp. (Reminds her of Phillips in Inner Harbor, Baltimore Md. We'll keep coming back to our favorite St Pete spot!

Stopped in for lunch after some time on the beach. This place is come as you are so no worries about beach hair and cover ups. It is on the inter-coastal and has been around a long time. It is one of the few places where you can sit on the water and it is decently priced. The outside seating is limited to a long bar over looking where the boats pull up and part of it is smoking. The bar area inside is big and then there is the dining room with table seating and a/c. They have a good assortment of seafood and menu items. One of my favs is the jalapeno conch fritters. They have a limited kids menu but all the standards are there. I only gave it 3 stars because the service is hit or miss and the fried shrimp my brother got today were pretty weak. They have a lot of regulars and you can come by boat or car.

Stopped here for a late lunch after beach time. Service was very good, we were treated well. Seafood part of the menu is the place to head - three of four did that. Fourth tried the Reuben and that was a mistake, way too much butter on the bread part of the sandwich. Stick with the seafood - if the Reuben had been better I would have given five stars.

Service was terrible! Waited at the hostess stand for 5 minutes before being acknowledged. Then once we were seated we waited another 20 minutes to have our drink order taken. We also ordered our food at that time. Waited about 30 minutes for the food to be brought out and the food was cold. New plates were brought but we were not checked on until the check was brought to us. Although the food was good, the terrible service made this a place that we will not be returning.

This place is like a bunk Sea Critters. The womens bathroom is terrible and your basically playing Tetris to fit into the first stall. I can't imagine the poor handicapped having to get in to use the bathroom. The parking situation is crazy! Go early if you want a spot! The food was mediocre. I could've made the same thing at home and made it better. Not interested in ever returning!

We've been to the wharf about 4 times and enjoyed all the seafood we've eaten. Crab Cakes, Lobster Rolls, Blue Crab Legs, etc. Always fresh and good. Two times excellent service, twice a bit slow, but easy to overlook since the food was good. Pub atmosphere. Recommend for casual dining experience.

Don't t let the exterior of this place scare you away like I almost do! It was good & reasonably priced! Ordered the lobster roll & it was very good! My friends had the fried combo platter & the grilled mahi. They both thought theirs were great too! The place is pretty small & very casual. I have to say I was a little turned off by the bags of water w/ pennies hanging around the place to ward off insects.

I'm in a predicament writing this review for two reasons: 1. The food is not good but.... 2. The view and location is ideal! Do not order the lobster bites as it ruins the $12 taste of delicious fresh lobster! I'm not a fried food kinda gal, but the server recommended it, bad decision. My husband had the buffalo chicken sandwich and said it was really good, but how can you mess up a fried piece of chicken smothered with medium sauce?!? Definitely check this spot out for drinks and view, but save your appetite for somewhere else!

One of my favorite bars in pass a grille! Best bar staff hands down. Drinks are cold and reasonably priced. Pull your boat up to the docks and enjoy this "dive". Food is your typical bar food. Portions are decent and well prepared. Fish spread is the BEST!!

I was nervous as we pulled up to the restaurant. We sat right on the water!! It was heated which was awesome. We all wanted wings and wings we had!! They were soooo good!!! I had BBQ everyone else got buffalo which was also good!! Next time we are in Tampa we will be going back!! Awesome venue, great service & amazing wings!!

My wife and I were looking for some place different for dinner and found The Wharf on Yelp...glad we did! It's a little off the beaten path but well worth the search. The service was friendly, fast and efficient as you would expect from a local hangout. The food was outstanding. I had the seared tuna (if you don't like spicy get the sauces on the side). It was perfectly seared and a huge portion. My wife got the grouper bowl (big chunks of blackened grouper over a bowl of red beans and rice). We were both too full for dessert but wished we'd gotten the homemade Key Lime pie to go. With two very filling dinners and a glass of wine each, the check was only about $40.00 which was about half of what we would have paid elsewhere for similar quality. We will absolutely go back.

Best place ever. My friend and I were staying at the don Cesar and eating at all their terrible overpriced restaurants and needed a cold beer and local flavor. The valet guys - simultaneously - said this was their favorite local spot - when we asked where they'd go for a really good dinner. We went - got conch fritters - blue crab legs in butter - shrimp- fried string beans - gumbo and lots of cold beers. Unbeatable flavors - a view of the bay. Lovely service and ridiculously cheap. We come down to fl. Every few months for business and this has become our go to celebratory dinner spot.

Not bad for the beach. Not a foodies destination but a great spot after the beach or hopping in from the boat. Cocktails first. I ordered a pina colada. It was very weak and not the best taste. I had cocktail regret quickly. I drank it anyways. Next I ordered a rum runner and I was much happier. Not too sweet which is great with me. My BF ordered 2 margaritas and thought they were made well. We ordered ceviche which was tasty. Very heavy on cut up shrimp versus fish, scallops, etc.. but it was fresh and a decent size appetizer. It came with colored tortilla chips. We ordered conch fritters and they were out. For our late lunch/early dinner: I ordered the lobster roll. The lobster roll filling was very tasty and had a lot of chunks of lobster. Very fresh tasting. However, it was on the strangest piece of bread. It was supposed to be a roll but instead imagine a thick piece of toast folded up with the filling inside. Very small sandwich and not very filling unfortunately. Had I not ordered the ceviche as an appetizer, I would have left still very hungry. It came with fries (which were so-so & a styrofoam cup of cole slaw). My boyfriend had a blackened grouper sandwich with red beans and rice. The grouper looked nice, thick and very flaky. Also was cooked perfect. Am I desperate to go back? Not really.. .but if I was stuck, it isn't the worst place in the area.

Sort of typical "warf-meets-sports-bar" atmosphere with abundant bikini-clad posters from previous decades. Great views of the harbor and sailboats. Great deals on great food! Even found "Banks Beer" from Barbados! Wow!

Well, the place is kind of a dump, but the food was very good, the atmosphere was fun and the price was right. Service was a little spotty, but once the waitresses figured out who was waiting on what table, it was fine. Ordered ceviche and a grouper sandwich, both were very good. I'd definitely go back.

I love Pass-a-grille! I've been a local here for many years. I meet friends here all the time. Locals seem to love it! Except I don't love it - it's just 'OK' in every sense of the word. Beach dive bar with no beach! But a lot of my friends always want to meet here, so I guess I will still visit but I don't get excited about visiting this place just the friends. Parking isn't easy at times.

I stopped in the Wharf in Pass-a-grille last night. I walked in, sat down at the bar and waited for some one to ask me what I wanted. I waited, waited some more at least ten minutes. The bartenders were to busy washing glasses and fraternizing with what I perceived as " regulars" to even notice me. Terrible service, pathetic! It wasn't even busy it was they weren't paying attention. If I owned that bar I would fire both of them. Washing glasses and chumming it up with regulars don't make the till ring. Never go there, unless you're a "regular"!

My parents and I were on a search for raw oysters while in St. Pete, and we wanted to sit "on the water" ("on the water" being subjective to the actual gulf-side or the east coast of the island). We were actually referred to The Wharf by another restaurant (The Sloppy Pelican) and I'm quite thankful and appreciative of that referral. In the 2.5 days we were in town, we ate at The Wharf twice - that should say something :) On the first visit, I had the Ahi Tuna ($12.95) which I expected to be sliced, like the apps you find these days. Wow - i was thrilled to receive a full steak of (raw) tuna. The wasabi sauce got to me a few times, but YUM - I was very happy with my selection. My parents and I also shared a dozen raw oysters (less than $10) and 2lbs boiled shrimp ($10.90 each). (I might have the oyster and shrimp prices confused, but they were definitely under $11). All of the food was YUMMY!! Our booths had water views each time (the east side of the island on the marina). You can eat outside, too. The service was so-so. We had different servers on the two visits and I would have appreciated closer attention to my beverage, but overall the food made up for the service. OH, and one final note, on the second day we stopped at Sea Critters next door (because I wanted to eat somewhere different each day) and the price of 1lb of boiled shrimp was $6 more than The Wharf. Plus, no oysters. So, Wharf it was, and I'm sure happy we went a second time :)

I get it. It's a local spot with moderate food. Don't expect your socks to come off with a dining experience, but take it for what it's there for......fish, oysters, and beer. Although I must say the buffalo chicken sandwich was AWESOME! My wife hated her fried lobster bites, which were recommended. We were mad we made such a poor choice on the advice of the waitress. Who fries lobster anyway?! It took the flavor right out of the crustacean! The views are great, and I'd love to return and get drunk and eat drunky food, but probable won't do dinner/lunch again. It's a tourist attraction really.

I would pass on this place for food. The fish was not fresh (tasted frozen) and the salad was bagged. Seating was uncomfortable (no back on the stool). If you wanted to drink after dinner you had to move to the bar inside. Service was OK but had to ask for additional drinks. It overlooked the waterway which should have been a nice experience but we will not be back.

Recommended by a friend, dined here this evening. I had the Grouper dinner and my son had the philly burger. At first I thought it was closed, but then followed the signs to the entrance. I always eat local and never chains when on vacation. The food was excellent. Sit outside and watch the boats go by. The portions were very large. Everything was reasonably priced and excellent. Definitely a great place to go if your an out of towner and looking for a good local place off the beaten path.

This place is an absolute gem if you are boating in the area. The place is über casual, and docking can be tricky as it gets crowded. I've been here by boat and by car. I liked it that much. The Lobster Bites and the cheese sticks are my favorite appetizers. The cheese sticks have a tortilla crumb coating that is divine. The fish plates are yummy, but trust me - the hot dog is baseball park worthy. 1/2 pound of frankfurter goodness. And the seasoned rice side is yummy. I've been here several times with family and friends and have yet to be disappointed. i highly recommend this spot as a colorful and delicious destination on a discovery trip of Tampa Bay.

Have been here too many time to count! Every time as been just perfect. The host with the foreign accent is always so sweet and accommodating. We did go back in hopes of seeing Katie but heard she may no longer be there! Wonder why, she was part of the reason we go out of our way from Tampa!!

Went on Saturday Night Lobster Bites Tasty - probably bad for me dipping deep fried lobster in butter but hey you only live once - Homemade Potato Chips Excellent -Excellent Service - Bar Tender Ashley made the Experience Memorable - Nice Friendly Environment - Typical Beach meets Local Bar Atmosphere - I'd definitely go back and I did - we returned on Sunday Night I had the Pound of Peel n eat Shrimp (Old Bay Seasoning) and this time tried the Cajun Potato Chips - My Friend had the Beer Batter Fish and Fries - All of our food was Hot, Fresh, and Tasted Good - Enjoyed the Exceptional Service from Ashley again along with Excellent Service from Pauley.

Great food, cheap prices. I had the blackened Mahi Mahi with rice and salad for $13.00. For a dinner that's an awesome price. Our bill for 6 people came to $100.00 total and everyone raved it was their favorite meal all trip. Long wraparound bar, cold beers, good service! Don't let the outside deceive you! It kind of resembles a shack but the inside is big and it is right on canal, perfect for boat watching.

Being ignored for a few minutes by a woman plastered in versace and other tacky high fashion crap, we finally got sat in a outdoor bar seating that faced the water. It was incredibly uncomfortable and awkward because I couldn't see my girlfriend. We asked to be seated inside instead and were told we had to wait in the back of the line. After saying something about it they finally sat us in the dining room. My girlfriend used the restroom and I feared using the men's room, she said the ladies room was small and tight, dirty and dusty (decor and tampon wrapper dispenser). She cringed as she walked out of the restroom. The conch fritters were actually pretty good and so was the service. However, the ribs were obviously the pre-packaged ones from the grocery store and the grouper was not worth 21 dollars at all! Do not recommend unless you lookin for some appetizers with your buddies on a deck.

I have been to the Wharf 5 times (3 times a year and a half ago and 2 in the last week). I had very similar experiences between my two visits to Pass A Grille and will definitely be back to the Wharf next time we visit! So, first I'll give you the so-so part of the review. -The Staff - It TOTALLY depends on who you get. I've had servers who were attentive and sociable and I've had ones who looked at me like I had 3 heads. I even had a bartender stand in front of me and clean 4 or 5 glasses without even looking at me. It was weird. But then we've had a bartender who chatted us up the whole time. It's hit or miss. -The Food - some of the menu items are just ok and I wouldn't order them again. -The drinks - One time I went in and was in a red wine kinda mood and when I got it, it was chilled. Now I should have kept in mind that I was in a local dive bar type place and they probably didn't care that red wine shouldn't be chilled. But you know what? It was hot and the cold red wine actually tasted awesome....kind of like Sangria :) -Parking - It's a pain! Here's the Yea-Yea part! -The drinks - I've gotten amazing bloody Mary's and a decent selection of beers here. -The Food - The boiled and seasoned shrimp is the best I've ever had. The mini crab claws are so good and I've never seen them anywhere else. The oysters are good and reasonably priced. Clearly, I am an advocate of their appetizers. That is what this bar does best! -The atmosphere - Lot's of bar height seating, loud classic rock, open windows in the summer and good views of the waterways. The thing about The Wharf is you have to know what to expect. Don't set the bar too high because I don't think they are setting out to be a stellar dining experience. If you want a laid back atmosphere, good appetizers and a few cold beers, try this place for sure!

Went here twice while on vacation. Ordered the queso cheese sticks, delish. Also, a pound and a half of the Asian style wings, pretty good. Not spicy enough. And baked potatoes, loaded with chili, great! cheap delicious drinks, nice bartenders, lots of locals, internet jukebox! check it out.

I stumbled into this place after a hard day on the beach at Pass-A-Grille. Seriously I'd been in the sun so long the place looked like a cave inside...my rods & cones were all messed up. Anyways, this place has outdoor seating, but I was already over the sun at this point and opted for the indoor area where the A/C was on cold. I ordered a grouper sandwich and it was excellent. Bravo. It was as good as any I'd had in the Tampa Bay area. They view is pretty good too. It's a view of the channel and there are boats going up and down every now and then. If you look to your left there's the 21st bridge. A few of my friends have jumped off that bridge thanks to Wharf libations...lol The steamed shrimp dinner will consist of more shrimp than you could ever attempt to eat. The drinks are cheap here too but I didn't partake as I was drunk on sun at that point.

It's good pub-seagrub. I ordered a basket of blackened shrimp (it's like half a pound) and fries (an appetizer and a side, basically) and they were both great. Fries came out steaming hot and the shrimp, wow, what kind of batter is that. Seating is tight but even with 7 people you can take up a bench. Outdoor seating would be great during suppertime when it gets a bit cooler outside. Primary downside is lack of parking in the vicinity (and all the threatening "we'll tow you" signs IVO).

The Wharf seems to have a lot of differing reviews, and I suppose it depends on the time and purpose of your visit as to how much fun you have, and how much you enjoy your food. My friends and I stopped by on a Saturday morning to grab a beer, some lunch, and watch some TV before heading to the beach for a bit, and I had a GREAT time! Was very excited to see that they offered up Sam Adams on draft, as well as Guinness and the usuals. Our bartender was very attentive, very cool, and took great care of us. I really enjoyed the fact that we were literally on the water as we ate- the day was beautiful, there were lots of sailboats floating by, and the ocean breeze really brought a nice touch to our lunch. For appetizers- we tried some fried queso sticks and some Tampa Bay Rockefeller. The friend queso sticks were okay- not great, but not terrible, but the oysters were GOLD. Oysters topped with a delicious creamy sauce and melted cheese- delicious. For lunch, I chose a fried shrimp and oyster po' boy, and it was GREAT. I was stunned at the amount of shrimp and oysters I got on the sandwich itself, they literally kept falling out every time I took a bite, it was LOADED. The bread was soft and warm, and the sauce that was served with it was great- like a spicy, cocktail/tartar sauce mixture- GREAT! Overall, had a great time here at The Wharf. The food was delicious- not gourmet five star food, but it was exactly what I was looking for. Great sandwiches served with cold beer, all while a nice ocean breeze blew through and we enjoyed watching sports on TV. The Wharf doesn't pretend to be some great five star place- just a great place to sit and chill with boaters and beachgoers, enjoy some drinks, and have some fried food.

The place is definitely a dive but that's what makes it so great. If you want some good fried seafood and a cold beer, you can't beat it! It's an especially good place if you are looking for somewhere to go by boat (though the docking can be a little tricky on a windy day or a strong tide...) and, even if you don't go by boat, you can eat on the back porch that hangs right over the water.

1.5 The Wharf is gross. And that's not just because I had to listen to a barefoot Dutchman tell someone else's girlfriend that her eyes were so beautiful (later, he told a German couple about a time that he broke down and cried in public). The grilled mahi mahi was wretched. I'd do it too much credit to describe it as viscous and weird. The frozen drinks (don't ask, don't tell) didn't contain alcohol except in the straw. The baked potato wasn't baked. And the staff was disinterested. I suppose I'm giving it the extra half-star because the fried stuff must be better. I'm just speculating, but it's because there wasn't a super rancid oil smell emanating from the place (as at another spot we rejected a few days earlier). Also, I got to watch pelicans fish. They probably had a better time.

Boy, did I take a beating for my review of this spot... I was told my frequent 5 star reviews are not to be trusted. And that I am a cave-woman type when it comes to consuming sustanance. The Wharf IS NOT Salt Rock Grille or Middle Grounds, nor does it pretend to be. It's simply what it is: a great local beach hangout with some pretty decent food. Now, "pretty decent" can take on many meanings to many folks. I reviewed this particular spot based on the ALCOLHOL TO FOOD point system. This meaning, after lots of adult beverages are consumed, food must also be consumed and the food here is JUST FINE for that reason alone. I love this site! It's helped me in my travels and at home, as well. Not everyone will agree with what I have to say, and not once did I ever think that would be the case. So, for you, my dear Renee, I hope you'll keep an open mind! Don't be so quick to throw stones! I will continue to love and spread the word of The Wharf, as do many who live on PAG, or visit the area often. Peace and love to all!!!

Went there on a sunday evening, very cramped. Our waitress was nice, knew lots about the menu. Seating wasn't great, but we accepted it. The view was beautiful. Food was good, don't expect it to be over the top. Sweet & Sour grouper was awesome.

Good, simple food. I got the club and was impressed with the amount of turkey and quality of the bread. I was told the tuna and crab cakes were also delicious. My husband got sick after eating the burger, but not sure what the issue was (him or the burger ;) hehe). Good place to try out but not a place I'm dying to visit again.

Went to the Wharf twice while at St Pete's beach. We came in for lunch one day to avoid a rain storm and what a surprise. We had the Corned beef sandwich $7.95, a great cup of Gumbo $3.50 and you can't go wrong with a $2 draft PBR. We sat out on the deck and enjoyed the dolphins playing in the water. We went back for dinner a few nights later but did not sit out on the deck because of the amount of people smoking. We had the prime rib (not a do again) , crab cake (not as good as Sea Critters), Grouper and the Gumbo. Stick with the sea food it's what they do best. The place does not take reservations and it does fill up fast.

This is a great beach casual place right on the water. Beautiful Pass-a-grille community is such a treat. It's like a small town Key West. The Wharf had great drinks, service, and food. I tried my favorite fried crab claws and they did not disappoint. A friend that joined me for dinner had the homemade flavored potato chips. We tried the ranch flavored and they were perfect. If your looking for the not so fancy but great local hangout with that beach attitude, this is your place! The seafood is fresh and this place can be reached by car, trolley, or you can park your boat right out front!

It was better. I'm not sure what happened but the chilli had a chunk of meat the size of a two golfballs and fish n chips style fish was not cooked all the way, too thin and just plain gross, ahi tuna was good, shrimp app was good, seems like prices went up since our last visit. Host forgot my beer, ran out of nachos app, Just not impressed anymore. Host was fast to say hello and get drinks and waiter was nice. They were not busy either.

We recently visited here on a short vacation, found this restuarant on Yelp. Fantastic seaford!!!!! The best steamed shrimp and scallops I have had in years. The service was great!!! We ended up eating there two out of the three nights we were there and I am back home now missing it. I sure wish I could find a job there, so we could move there, loved the area, the people, and especially the weather. I know I would be a regular there!

I can't speak on the food here. All I know is that by the time I got here, I was pretty damn drunk and enjoyed sitting outside on the back deck at night, watching the big fish try to eat the little fish. All of this could be seen because of the glowing light underwater. It was quite a sight to see. The neon lights also blew my mind for whatever reason.

I'm going to start positive with our experience of tonight's dining experience. Then I'm going to tell you a horrific story about Meagan the bartender. The food was good our table server was polite and professional. Something happened in the kitchen that delayed our meal by 40 minutes, which was ok, cause the waitress kept us well informed but when we first arrived the where somewhat busy, not to bad. We walked in with party of 6' put our name in then came back out front took a seat and where wanting a few drinks while waiting on our table. After 15 min. of watching Meagan go in and out serving drinks, and waiting patiently, I decided to get Meagans attention. So once she delivered all her drinks and was heading back in I politely got her attention and said "Hi..when ya get a chance, cane we order some drinks?" she replied with with a sharp "NOPE" and walked inside. Everyone in our party and 2 other party's heard her response and we all just chuckled in surprise. At this time 10-12 ppl where shaking their heads, a few of which already had their drinks, so I asked them to confirm I heard Meagan right to be fair to her and give her the benefit of the doubt. I apparently heard her correctly and was confirmed by the strangers sitting near by. While discussing to leave or not, our table became available....unfortunately for the rest. a couple did leave that had witnessed the event. We made a packed not to say anything until after we got our food out of fear of it being tampered with. Ironically, my brother in law lives here in Tierra Verdie and apparently the locals think this rest. has a reputation for rude people. I will say this though, the waitress that served our food was very nice and the food was good.......BUT I will never give this business my money again. Meagan, if you ever read this, I feel sorry for you and hope u find a job someday that is better suited for your customer service skills.

Third time there, and tonight's experience confirmed why I didn't EVER want to go back after the last two visits. We ordered the fish fry pollock, and it was horrible: mushy! Maybe that's the way pollock is, but why serve it if it isn't a good fish? The iced tea: like lightly colored water with ice in it... When you're dining (?) on the outside deck, the birds that hover around waiting to pounce on your meal are NOT fun...it's almost scary. Even worse are the pigeons that land on the deck railings, drop to the floor, and walk right into the inside dining area...gross! I could not wait to leave after (not!) finishing my meal. Oh, and the cheese sticks: they dripped something white, which was totally a turn off.

I really, really love The Wharf. I was in the area on vacation last week and went in two days in a row (first place my friend took me from the airport even before showing me her new house). First day just for some beers and apps. - had the fish spread and the crab cake - both were very yummy. The beer was cold and cheap, just the way I like it. I felt like a local the moment I walked in. Went back again the following morning to start the day off with some Bloody Marys. Erin makes a mean Bloody I would highly recomment them.

Our toddler wanted cereal and an early night, so it was takeout for us. Found it on Yelp as it was close. I said I was ordering takeout and was sent to the bar to order. Fine, but someone tell me there's a surcharge on every dish ordered: $1 for "large," 50 cents for small. And then a salad was left off out. Anything Rockefeller was out. In the end, the crab cakes were okay, while the beans and rice was quite good. The conch fritters were very flavorful as was the dipping sauce. The takeout Caesar was about 75 cents worth of romaine + the ridiculous service charge = quite a ripoff. I was pleased with an icy Sierra Nevada PA at the bar while I waited. I'd return for some food and drinks if I weren't so cheesed off by crazy surcharges. And I should say I can understand them to a point, but I wish to be apprised first.

I usually don't write reviews, but this was something to write about. The service was absolutely awful and the only reason this is getting 2 stars. I don't even know how to rate this. The food was 4 maybe 5 stars. But let's start from the top. When you walk in it says "Please wait to be seated" so we waited (with no one else in front of us) to be seated. About 5 people passed by asking we will seat you in a second, all passing by. Then we get seated. And We wait a few minutes, then we order out waters. Regular Ice waters, it then takes our waitor about 5 minutes to bring those out. Next we are ready to order then we have to wait about 15 minutes before the waitor even comes back over. Then we order right before we switch seats to sit right on the water, which was no big deal. Just about at that time some tourists come and sit next to us. We waited what had to be about 45 minutes for our food, for 2 people, on a Monday night that wasn't overly crowded. I ordered the fried shrimp basket, my aunt ordered the reuben. Both were very tasty, especially the cole slaw. Our neighbors (the tourists) also had about the same wait. One of our neighbors was getting margaritas. She had 2, and then the waitor brought the 3rd one and said "This one is on me because this wait is so long" when they waited as long as us. Our waitor never said sorry even when he brought the food and rarely came over to where we were sitting. It was very frusterating. The food was good even though it was pretty greasy. The shrimp was awesome.

Wow what a waste. There are six of us and the most positive thing we can say is that we found parking easily. The food is so bland, the kids menu was the highlight. The wait staff was slow, we didn't even get enough silverware without asking twice for it. The carrots were an absolute disaster. The brown bread was actually decent to be fair. After requesting a table for 6 outdoors, they sat us indoors, and then claimed we requested first available. We didn't. The bar staff was rude, the waiter oblivious to our displeasure, and the owner didn't want to hear how bad it was. Never again.

Definitely my favorite local dive bar in the area. The menu is huge and bursting at the seams with fish dishes and deep fried treats. The bar staff is friendly, as are the locals, but I suppose it helps that I'm there with locals. Maybe if you're there on your own and you're kind of douchey they won't be as nice. Don't be douchey. Seating on the outdoor deck is great on balmy nights so you can take advantage of the breezes off the water. Another boat up option, which is great for folks like me who might need the occasional nap during a big night out - if your boat is docked right there, it's much easier to find a safe and quiet spot for a kip.

i can't really explain the mixed reviews here but as a Miami liver (3 years but a transplant from the Bay area CA, and before that Denver/Boulder-CO) i really really like this place. As far as pre-conceived notions that food should be this, and i expected that...well each place brings something new and different to the experience...but who cares the drinks here are great! and sitting out on the dock was awesome! i had a couple of beers (great selection on tap), got a waffle (Guinness and blue moon), and had the greatest bloody mary in my life. as far as food goes we tried the fried oysters/shimp po-boys and they were good, and the fries were good also. But the jalapeno conch fritters were one of the best fried things that i have ever ate. it's a mellow dive bar that happens to have food, and that is great by me. if you need something, else then the beach is down the road and hit one of the tourist places that could be more your style, but i'll take this place anytime and swap some stories with great people. plus i never ever even once saw a bird there, but i did see a bat ray (way cool), so i have no idea what she's talking about.
